How to Apply

Your step-by-step guide to joining Kuwait University

Kuwait University welcomes applications from high school graduates seeking quality higher education. The admission process is managed by the Deanship of Admission & Registration. Follow the steps below to begin your journey at Kuwait's premier public university.

Application Steps

Meet Eligibility Requirements

Obtain a Kuwaiti high school certificate (Thanawiya Amma) or equivalent qualification recognized by the Ministry of Education.

Take Academic Aptitude Tests

Register for and complete the required KU Academic Aptitude Tests through the Center for Evaluation and Measurement (CEM).

Submit Online Application

Complete your application through the Deanship of Admission portal during the announced admission period.

Check Admission Results

Monitor your application status and check if you meet the minimum admission percentages for your chosen college.

Complete Enrollment

If accepted, complete the enrollment procedures and register for your courses during the registration period.

Academic Aptitude Tests

The KU Academic Aptitude Tests are a key admission requirement since 1996. Tests are administered by the Center for Evaluation and Measurement (CEM).

English Language Test

Required for most colleges. IELTS/TOEFL scores can be used as alternatives.

Required for: All colleges except Sharia

Mathematics Test

Required for scientific and technical colleges.

Required for: Engineering, Science, Computing, Business

Arabic Language Test

Required for humanities and Islamic studies.

Required for: Arts, Law, Sharia, Education, Social Sciences

Chemistry Test

Required for health sciences colleges.

Required for: Medicine, Dentistry, Pharmacy, Allied Health

Required Documents

  • Original high school certificate (Thanawiya Amma) or equivalent
  • Civil ID (for Kuwaiti students)
  • Passport copy (for non-Kuwaiti students)
  • Academic Aptitude Test results
  • English proficiency test results (IELTS/TOEFL) if applicable
  • Recent passport-size photographs
